Name: Madox Q

Description: Coenzyme Q is a coenzyme family that is ubiquitous in animals and most bacteria. In humans, the most common form is coenzyme Q₁₀ and ubiquinone-10. Coenzyme Q10 is an important vitamin-like substance required for the proper function of many organs and chemical reactions in the body. It helps provide energy

Generic: Coenzyme Q10

Therapeutic Class: Coenzyme Q10 is a ubiquinone having a side chain of 10 isoprenoid units. In the naturally occurring isomer, all isopropyl double bonds are in the E- E-configuration.

Mechanism of Action: CoQ10 can increase the production of key antioxidants such as superoxide dismutase, an enzyme capable of reducing vascular oxidative stress in hypertensive patients. CoQ10 reduces levels of lipid peroxidation via the reduction of pro-oxidative compounds.

Drug class: vitamin-like substance
